Blog 3 comparing Napoleon and Hitler (Brenda)

Napoleon and Hitler are both alike because they both use propaganda to persuade people and Napoleon to persuade the animals into following his orders. Napoleon was the one telling everyone what to do and how to do things. He would change things around and words things differently. Since he was a pig everyone believed the pigs were smarter so they listened. Napoleon takes advantage of this and I think its very smart but not right for the rest of the animals. The rest of the animals except for snowball, don’t think for themselves and they don’t depend on themselves they think Napoleon and the rest of the pigs are the smartest. Snowball feels like something’s going on and she’s right so she talks to boxer about it. This compares to Hitler because Hitler lead the Nazi Party and controlled there thinking. BBC-History said “On his release he began to rebuild the Nazi Party and used new techniques of mass communication, backed up with violence, to get his message across. ” http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/people/adolf_hitler He made everything they were doing seem so right when it wasn’t he would change things around and got the Nazi Party to killing and torturing the Jews. Hitler and his Nazi Party killed many Jews but before killing them they made them suffer they put them in gas chambers for months. They wouldn’t be able to shower or use the restroom for so long. They were moved from those gas chambers to concentration camps in box carts. Theses box carts weren’t so big and they were stuffed with Jews, Poor Jews struggled to fit in and get out once they had arrived. Jewish Virtual Library Said “At first the German armies carried all before them, overrunning vast territories, overwhelming the Red Army, encircling Leningrad and reaching within striking distance of Moscow. Within a few months of the invasion Hitler's armies had extended the Third Reich from the Atlantic to the Caucasus, from the Baltic to the Black Sea” http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Holocaust/hitler.html#nazi
Hitler made all Germans and Jews that Jews were worth much less then Germans and everyone else. Hitler changed around so many things thinking he could be the ruler just as Napoleon thought.

Napoleon compared to Adolph Hitler (Oscar)

How could you argue that the character of napoleon compares to Adolph Hitler.  They’re both immoral to other kind of peers or animals.  For example Hitler’s helpers are the Nazi’s a group of soldiers who help Adolph Hitler capture the Jews or kill them just like the pigs that play the same role as the Nazi’s and also the dogs because they are Napoleons soldier who protects him and helped him kicked out snowball and Napoleon could be known as Adolph Hitler in this case. While Hitler came to power across Europe people ignored him because every one would be scared of him.  Arthur Desmond Seward stated that” Adolf Hitler is arguably the most controversial leader of the twentieth century. He slaughtered millions of people, and he oppressed millions more. Although people can compare recent race crimes to Hitler's crimes, none can compare the scale of the crimes’’.  (Comparison and Contrast of Napoleon and Hitler). Arthur Humer indicated said ‘’ Hitler was certainly gifted in some subjects, but he lacked self-control. He was argumentative and bad-tempered, and unable to submit to school discipline.... moreover, he was lazy. He reacted with hostility to advice or criticism’’. ( Adolf Hitler )

Hitler & Napoleon (Antonio)

The animals are like Jew’s and the pigs are the Nazi’s because the pigs are the ones that run the farm and the animals are like and the dogs are like the pigs helpers. The dogs are to scare the animals that don’t collaborate with him and. The animals can’t do noting because they are scared of the dogs and him. They have broken most of the laws that they had when snowball was there and napoleon has made new laws that are not fare for other animals but they can’t do noting about it. They are trying to make the farm cool for then self’s but for the other animals are like hell because all the things that napoleon does are for his benefits and not for the animals. And the other animals don’t realize what napoleon is doing to them they think that he is better then snowball because he said that snowball is a traitor. And that he is making then think that he came up with the idea of the windmill and that snowball stole the paper from him to say that it was his. That’s why the animals think that he is the smartest one and that he should run the animal farm. Another thing that is going on is that napoleon is doing is that he is brining humans so that he can sell some of the things that the farm produces so that he can get some of the things that the humans make. Adolf Hitler He was convinced that it was a Jewish professor that had rejected his art work; he became convinced that a Jewish doctor had been responsible for his mother’s death. Napoleon & Hilter (Maria)

Adolph Hitler is similar to Napoleon, because of their want to be leaders and giving orders; they can get to the point of killing.  There ambition of wanting things and their cruelty makes them do things that are bad for the society. Napoleon has Boxer’s agreement to everything, Boxer is always saying, “Napoleon is always right” “Napoleon is never wrong”. Adolph was admired by his leadership qualities the same way Napoleon is admired by Boxer.  They are both cruel they can do anything either right or wrong to get what they want. Napoleon can be brutal to the animals to get them to do what he want them to do, Adolph was they same way he used violence to get what he want after all he would get what he wanted. Them two, they did not care what others opinion was, all what they wanted is to get everything done their way. The animals in the farm are ruled by Napoleon, just like Adolph ruled the people. They do what their leaders tell them to do because the are afraid that they’ll do something to them. The animals are scared of Napoleon because of what he did to snowball. He got the puppies he took away from their mother when they were babies, to chase snowball, snowball fail in a hole and died. The animals are afraid that if they disobey Napoleon they would happen the same thing to them. They don’t to happen to them what happened to snowball. That by ambition he was killed so Napoleon could rule.

Is Napoleon Like Adolf Hitler? (AJ)

Blog Three

Is Napoleon like Adolf Hitler? Well my opinion is I think that napoleon is not like him all the way but some of the things that he is doing are a little like Adolf Hitler. I say that because Napoleon is trying to rule, be a leader and take over, and trying to do things his way. When Adolf Hitler came across Europe and killed over 12 million Jew’s he did that out of hate. “Hate is more lasting than dislike”. I think that if napoleon keeps trying to take over he will end up being just like Adolf Hitler. Napoleon is a selfish pig, he only thinks about what he likes and what he wants. I personally think that he doesn’t really care about the other animals at he farm. Napoleon just wants the animal’s to look up to him as if he is the king. I wonder if the Jews where that scared I think that if they would have stuck together and came together and work as a team they could have defeated Adolf Hitler. But because of all the lies that he told them they believed him. “If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed”. I think that the Jews didn’t pay that much attention because they didn’t think he was going to do what he said he was but when he came back Adolf Hitler did what he said he was going to do. I think the animals are doing the same they really aren’t listening to Napoleon the same thing the Jews did. They ignored the signs because Napoleon tells a lot of lies.

Napoleon & Hitler comparison (Juawan)

In the book Animal Farm the character Napoleon could be compared to Adolf Hitler, because they both had a thing for eliminating their enemies and reinforcing their status as supreme leader of their domain. Both shared characteristics of being cruel, brutal, selfish, devious and extremely hungry for power. They both used propaganda to gain and persuade people to join/support their cause and if they didn’t they would be punished and maybe put to death. According to the holocaust explained “The Nazis used propaganda to increase their support and appeal. They spent huge sums of money on newspapers, leaflets and poster campaigns with simple slogans encouraging people to support the party” (The Holocaust Explained).
They both used and twisted laws to gain and maintain more power and take advantage over everyone else. They also strongly relied on their military personnel’s to enforce their laws or ways of thinking to control the population and make them believe what their leader is doing is for the better. I think Europeans at the time were most likely aware, but was to afraid to stand up and say something because they didn’t want to face Hitler’s brutal army or they just didn’t want anything to do with Hitler and his devious ways. And according to lewrockwell “Some might argue that Germans, unlike people in other nations, should not have trusted and supported their government officials during the war because it was obvious that Hitler and his henchmen were evil. The problem with that argument, however, is that throughout the 1930s many Germans and many foreigners did not automatically come to the conclusion that Hitler was evil. On the contrary, as we saw in part one of this article, many of them saw Hitler as exercising the same kind of strong leadership that Franklin Roosevelt was exercising to bring the United States out of the Great Depression and, in fact, as implementing many of the same kinds of programs that Roosevelt was implementing in the United States” (Lewrockwell).
I think this will also happen later in the book as Napoleon starts to acquire more power and control over the farm animals, and they won’t recognize until its too late. I believe the only reason the animals haven’t seen the signs are because they have been heavily pulled into Napoleon’s propaganda, believing everything he was doing was for them and he was going to make things better by doing what he thought was right. And for the ones who did see the signs they didn’t speak indifferently, because it would cost them their lives.

How do the changing rules of the pigs compare to the changing of laws to meet the specific needs of the their makers? (Travon)

How do the changing rules of the pigs compare to the changing of laws to meet the specific needs of the their makers? It was changed cause the pig was tired of getting push around by the humans and they wanted to do thing on their own. It just like the woman and the history at first they couldn’t do nothing they just had to say at the house all the time and watch the kids they couldn’t vote they was only post to say home but they didn’t want to just do that so they came up with a plan and the plan was to get the same right as men cause they just didn’t want to say home. The animal is very similar to the woman and the old days cause the animals was just getting push around and they wanted to make a big change just like the women wanted to so they was plan then had a big brawl with the human. They had to fight hard and smart to beat the humans to be free and take over they own barn and control there own life but the pigs think they was to cocky so they was going to be the leader of the whole barn so they can have somebody by run they farm. "Women's Rights Movement in the U.S.).

If you compare the animals to the woman by and the day they both was trying to get free and be able to do any they wanted to do cause both of them wanted rights the woman wanted the right to vote and to do the thing and job man do but they man didn’t wanted them to and it was against the law so the woman had to fight for it and the animals wanted to do they own work so they had to the same thing to get free they just had to fight for freedom. Utah and Idaho follow suit in 1896, Washington State in 1910, California in 1911, Oregon, Kansas, and Arizona in 1912, Alaska and Illinois in 1913, Montana and Nevada in 1914, New York in 1917; Michigan, South Dakota, and Oklahoma in 1918”(Imbornoni, Ann-Marie.
