Banned Books (Kenia)

Books can mean so much to someone. They can have the power to take over someone. They have some type of power that wont let the person let go of them. I think that society decided to ban books because they probably thought that it was bad for people, such as kids and teens. They didn’t give it a chance at all. Books and reading are not bad. They actually help people out a lot. Maybe they thought that it was some type of bad influence and that they didn’t need it at all, because of the fact that they never experience it or lived it, I bet that they didn’t even give it a chance at all. In some way they couldn’t of thought that it wasn’t worth the time to teach people. But I don’t understand? If kids went to school what did they learn? If they didn’t teach them how to read? Too me its all confusing, I think books and reading are a major part of a school, and huge part of teaching. I don’t see the point of people doing this, or why they even did it. I honestly don’t see this going on in our world anymore, well maybe in some states yea, but not here in Kansas. After a long period of time things changed. Books are stopped form being band. More books are even coming out. I’m guessing that they finally understood how important and needed this is and maybe that’s why it stopped or at least it calm down. But from my point of view things have changed big time.

Dreams ..(Kenia)

What do "dreams" represent? What is the power of dreams? Can dreams have an effect on "reality"?  Has a dream ever effected what you did in your real life? 

   -Dreams to me represent some type of imagination, a huge imagination that sometimes comes true. Also I see it like a goal, because some people actually manage to make their dreams come true and they work hard for it. Until they reach the goal. If they really want it to come true, they will not give up.  I think that dreams have a supper strong power. They keep people going and going. To actually do something with their life’s. It keeps them busy and sometimes it makes people change the way they are. People can go from being mad and angry to happy. Everything changes and they don’t pay attention to what other people have to say about them. They just focus on themselves. To make it happen. Its like a huge difference made in your life. I think that dreams can have an effect on reality, because at times they can come true and like I said they make a BIG difference in people’s life. Sometimes they can go bad, nothing ever turns right if you don’t try.  If you really want something fight for it and NEVER give up. Thinking about I never experienced something like this. A dream has never affected my life. But I do have a dream. My dream is to become a cosmetologist later on in my life. But my problem is that I haven’t really focused on it that much, because I believe that it will never come true. Even if I actually try. Its my biggest dream ever, but I don’t know what I can do to make it happen. But hopefully it doesn’t affect me or my life at all.  

     

Interfering with your love. (Kenia)

In my opinion I think that your friends and family have No right on telling you whom to love. They can’t take over what you feel. They can’t decide your feelings towards a person. Yes they can suggest what person could be good for you or give you their opinion. At times that helps. Sometimes an opinion can mean a lot too you, especially if its your family. I believe that a FAMILY is more important than anything else; also I bet that they just want the best for you, but choosing the person who you should and need too love is just not right. That’s a decision of your own.  You decide on who makes you happy, whom you truly love and a person that you really want to be with. I think that our society has changed a lot. Things aren’t the same like they used to be back than. Family and friends stay try too stay out of their teen-aged relationship. If they see their daughter/son happy, than that makes them happy as well. But at points parents give out their opinion a lot and what they think about that person who you love. It can be a good or bad opinion, but at least they let you know what they honestly think. Witch is a good thing. In my case my friends/ family do not play a role on who I love. Yes they give me their opinion. Some of them say that he’s a great guy and some of them say that he’s no good for me, that I can do better and all that. I mean yes I take their opinion but I love him and I can’t and won’t want to change. He makes me happy and I’m happy with him so I believe that’s all that matters.
