BlogWeek2 Nature Vs Nurture

Trayvon Martin’s killer put him in a stereotype.  Nature vs. Nurture plays a big part in Trayvon’s killing. I feel that this is a chase of Nurture because the environment and the surrounding around the two had a very impact on the shooting. The environment around them may have been in a good neighborhood but because of a lot of violence and crimes that happen every were the killer put in his head that Trayvon was just another “criminal, man one on drugs, or robber” just because the color of Trayvon’s skin. The rest of the society is very uneasy because what happened. The community and around the world felt that, the shooting was uncalled for and racist. The killer said on the 911 call, Trayvon looked suspicious because it was raining and he was walking around looking at houses also that it looked like he was caring a gun. When police arrived the only thing Trayvon had in his front hoodie pocket was a pop and skittles. Trayvon had no priors or no criminal record. Trayvon might have had a bad day so he was walking around or he went to go buy a snack and something to drink and it happened to be raining. Then so guy happened to see him and think bad and put him in a stereotype of a bad African American and took it into his own hands. This is, were nature takes play there has to be something wrong in a man’s head to just kill someone walking down sidewalk. The killer could of easily waited for the police to show up and handle this “suspicious boy” with killing a innocent member of society

Execution Debate (Brianna)

Execution Debate

I don’t feel the death penalty helps prevent crimes because if someone isn’t scared to do a crime big enough to receive the death penalty then they are not scared to die. I do feel it helps get bad people off this world. If someone is to kill another person intentionally and get away with it then most then likely they will do it again. There for why allow them to live, so they can kill innocent people for self-satisfaction. Also taxes payers shouldn’t have to pay to keep bad people locked up until they die. Some one can live for a long time.
The families of crime victims should not be able to administer the death penalty or be the one to pull the switch. It is confect of interest; it wouldn’t be considered the right thing to do. Just because someone killed/hurt their family member it would give them any closure or make them feel any better by killing the person at fault. End the end they would feel bad and be as bad as the person who committed the crime. Also if the crime was not internal but the family felt it was it wouldn’t be right to hit the switch even though the person hurt/killed their family. A person that has lost a loved one by someone else then they would know how it feels to lose someone close and they shouldn’t want someone else to feel their pain. So they should just leave the executions up to a person that knows what they are doing.

Adolph Hitler & Napoleon (Brianna)

How could you argue that the character of Napoleon compares to Adolph Hitler? Think about the fact that while he came to power across Europe many people ignored the warning signs.  How does that compare to the animals on the farm? How & why did the animals ignore the negative signs with Napoleon?

I feel Napoleon is like Adolph Hitler because they are dictators and try to rule people to get what they want. At first the people/animals thought he was doing good for the country but they ended up making things worse. People noticed that he was starting to mess up but didn’t say anything because they were scared of what would happen to them and their families. For example “He was an awful man but people followed him. People followed him because he was a strong extremist patriot, and this is what Germany thought they needed. They thought that Germany was going to fail under the Weirmar republic and they needed a strong dictator to get them back on their feet. People were also afraid of him, as they knew what he and the Nazi party could do to them.”(Answer.com, Why did people follow Adolf Hitler?) “He promised to solve their problem. The league of nations had imposed such overwhelming sanctions against Germany following WWI that the German people were already suffering financially at the beginning of the Great Depression, then things got worse. Hitler promised to make things better, found a group of people on whom he could blame all of the problems (the Jews) and told everyone that he was locking them up for the good of the nation. He didn't say much about the Holocaust, and while there were rumors, the German people didn't want to believe because things were getting better.” (Answer.com, Why did people follow Adolf Hitler?)

In the story Napoleon did some what the same, he said he would do better for the farm and make life better but he ended up just using the animals for his use and blamed Snowball for the problems the farm was going through and ran him off. He also had the dogs to guard him and if any one asked questions about him and his choices he would make him dogs attack who ever was asking questions or refusing what they were told to do.

Equal Rights (Brianna)

What are equal rights? Would it be better to have equal rights or would it be worse? Why would it be better for every one to be equal?

Equal rights are when every one and every thing is equal, have the same rights and can do all the same thing, as someone else if they feel is right. Not every one can live how they want, have the rights they want, or do what they want like others can. For example, when you are from another country and you try to come live in the United States. If you don’t fill out the right paper work or tell the authorities you came to live here, you are not considered a citizen, you cant live how you please, you don’t have rights like anyone else that has been here forever.
I feel that if we all had equal rights then it would make the world go better, even if you come from a different country, we are all people we should have the same rights and same abilities to do things. Most illegal people come here for a better life and to have rights like American people but not all of them understand or can’t become a citizen for certain reasons but that shouldn’t mean that they should get in trouble or sent back were they came from all because they wanted good rights they felt they should have as a person.
Equal rights should not just be between humans but animals too. Even though they do not live in a house, do not walk or talk, they still have a heart beat and are alive. Any living thing should have rights and should be protected. Put your self in an animals huffs or four legs, how would you feel if you were put on a farm to be worked to death, not be feed because your just thought of as an animal; not important to feed as an human. Some are even killed for no reason or to be eaten. What if we killed humans and ate them, don’t sound to good or fun. Animal’s maybe animals but the can feel just like humans and should be protected like a person.

Is fear a good motivator? (Brianna)

Is fear a good motivator?  In other words, can you “make” someone do something by instilling FEAR in him or her?  Why/why not?

Fear can make someone do something they don’t usually do. Fear is a “gray” motivator, meaning it can be a good motivator and then again a bad one also. Fear can motivate someone to do better but can also get a person to do bad or cause harm.
In animal farm the animals gain fear by thinking they are going to be eaten or abused. This causes the animals to turn on the humans to gain their freedom. Fear can cause some one that is doing awful things in their life to do something better before it gets to late. It can also make people protest for good causes, like if a species goes existent then people gain fair of losing that type of animal they will protest. Even if a government is in fear of losing power they will go to extreme measures to make sure nothing bad happens. In other cases in fear of getting bullied some kids are motivated to hurting them self’s or other to stop the harassment. If a country may gain fear that they are over populated and main run out of food sources, they may start killing off people or may send families away to another country.
Fear has gotten people to do the best they can or the worse a person you can be. Fear is a strong feeling like belief and or happiness. But it doesn’t have the same affect on a person. To let fear control you as a person it takes a lot to control if you do bad or good. It depends on what kind of person you are to do bad or good when you have fear in you.

Trickster chracters (Brianna)

Sponge Bod Square Pants has a character named Plankton, he is the show trickster because, and almost every show he tries to still the Kraby Pattys. I think audiences like to watch Plankton try and still the patties because, he never gets the Patty’s but gets really close, his very funny, never gives up, and because he gets hurt witch is funny! Puck is a clown/jokester. But he mainly does as Oberon tells him. I would describe Puck role as a servant to Oberon. His purpose is to cheer up Oberon and make him happy when he is mad.
Puck and Plankton are the same because they bother people and never give up on the task at hand. Plankton tries to get the Krabby Patty recipe to make money from his business and to make his wife happy. Puck plays around and gets the love flower’s juice to still the change link for Oberon and make him happy.
Puck and Plankton are also very different. Puck lives in the forest with a king and queen, and people he has please. Plankton lives under the sea, with no king or queen and only two people to please, him and his wife!
Even though these characters are so alike they are also so different.

Dreams (Brianna)

A dream can’t represent anything. Things we want, our imagination, things that have occurred in our lives, or even things that could happen. Scientist say that dreams come from this chemical called DMT. The chemical gets released when you fall in a deep sleep. The chemical is a hallucinogen that is why we image things that do not occur in reality. Dreams affect our lives because they can influence the way we act in reality, or if you dream of something that might happen in life it will help you know the right chooses to make, or help guide you.
Dreams can be bad and have bad effects on people. If you have a bad dream it can cause you not to want to sleep, be scared the dream may happen, it can also bring up things from the past. Being up someone’s past they don’t want to be brought up can mess up that persons day or life depending on what happened in the past and what was brought up in the dream. In a dream you can have your own life and our own decisions.

Family & Your Love Life (Brianna)

I feel that family has the right to say who you are with un-tell you are of age.  They allows watch out for the best of you if they don’t think the people you love is fit for you they should have the right to tell you, you are not making wise choices. Friends also have the right to say who you love if they treat you wrong. If your family or friends just don’t like him or her because of stupid little things then they don’t have a right to an opinion on who you’re with or love. The one I love society wont let us be together because age issues and my parents don’t agree wit us being together. My friends have a role in this because they are the only one I can talk to about him. They understand what is going on and they think we make a good couple and should be together. My family has a role in this to because most of my friends doesn’t like him or want us talking but some also understand that he is a good person and will do things that better me and my life. In a way I feel like Hermia I have people trying to make my own decisions for me.
