Trickster (Selso)

 

  The audience enjoys a character like puck because he/they are funny and because he can make them laugh. Puck’s role in the play is to make the play more funny/silly or lighten the play a bit so it won’t be all serious drama. He is a pranker kind of character; he play pranks on people and makes fun of some of them. He serve’s the purpose of making the play/movie not so serious or to make it funny, so the play wont just give off the serious kind of mood, but also the happy/funny kind of mood that most people enjoy. He is also there to make the audience laugh most people enjoy laughing and if a character can make them laugh a lot then they will like the play even more than they already do. 

Trickster (Kara)

A character that may be a trickster like puck it reminds me of the movie Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. I think that because to me he basically tricked most of those children that won the golden ticket to believing they were winners and that they were going to win the special prize at the end. There were four kids, four rich kids who were stuck up and just knew just because they were rich that they was going to win. But there was one boy that had nothing to begin with and won it was most like a mind trick. People would enjoy watching things like that because its entertainment playing tricks and pranks are funny unless they get too serious. Pucks role in the play was the trickster to me by accident because he had the wrong people. To me the prank was mostly on Helena because Demetrius nor Lysander both loved Hermia and all of a sudden they was deeply in love with Helena and she thought she was being fooled.  Also Hermia thought she was being fooled because Lysander didn’t love her anymore but loved Helena. Puck was like the mans best friend he did what he was told to do. The purpose that he serves is too follow what Orebon says which is to put love spells on the ones who don’t love each other.

Tricksters (Oscar)

            Tricksters in TV or movies are the ones who get more attention because they are the ones who entertain the audience with their clumsy selves causing problems among other people and such. And with out the tricksters there wont be actually a good movie or TV show because with out them there is no comedy conflicts etc. Puck plays a humorous role in A Midsummer Night's Dream. He is a fairy from Oberon who causes more problems then there in the forest. He transformed Bottom into an ass (donkey) and made Titania the queen of the fairies fall in love with Bottom also when he is asked to apply the love poison into the eyelid of Demetrius with a flower so that he will fall in love with Helena.  But he had failed with out him playing that humorous role there won’t be a good play at all because there wont be comedy with out puck or more conflicts and drama he created which making the play very interesting.  

Trickster chracters (Brianna)

Sponge Bod Square Pants has a character named Plankton, he is the show trickster because, and almost every show he tries to still the Kraby Pattys. I think audiences like to watch Plankton try and still the patties because, he never gets the Patty’s but gets really close, his very funny, never gives up, and because he gets hurt witch is funny! Puck is a clown/jokester. But he mainly does as Oberon tells him. I would describe Puck role as a servant to Oberon. His purpose is to cheer up Oberon and make him happy when he is mad.

Puck and Plankton are the same because they bother people and never give up on the task at hand. Plankton tries to get the Krabby Patty recipe to make money from his business and to make his wife happy. Puck plays around and gets the love flower’s juice to still the change link for Oberon and make him happy.

Puck and Plankton are also very different. Puck lives in the forest with a king and queen, and people he has please. Plankton lives under the sea, with no king or queen and only two people to please, him and his wife!

Even though these characters are so alike they are also so different.
