The quote that’s mentioned by Captain Beatty is a little quite confusing. I think what its trying to explain is that you never know the truth and you don’t know what is coming to you in life, be prepared for whatever comes your way. The books are given the power of destroying; destroying peoples lives and or their way of living. Changing the person’s way of thinking and wanting to live. I think the society decided to ban books instead of teaching the people the way of thinking because they decided it was way easier for them to have them under control, like a robot or pet. They thought it was a easier way out instead of having to deal with changes and teaching the people how to think for their own. Personally I doubt this will end up happening in our world, because in our society we have “rights”. We have the freedom of speech, which is we have the right to speak what we feel and what we believe. Also books have been going on for quite a while now, and that’s part of our learning, we learn by reading books and information that come from books. The book Fahrenheit 451 is a fiction book, everything is made up, and so I really doubt that anything from the book will happen in our world, besides the things we have now.
