Family/Friends opinion on your lover. (Yesenia)

Friends and family have the right to say their own opinions about who your crushing on but I don’t think they have the right to actually force you to get with the person they like.  Something really similar is happening to me, my family don’t like the person I’m with right now but they obviously cant stop it from happening, even though they have tried to. They said once I’m old enough if I want to be with that person, to be with them, but right now they just want me to enjoy life. Society has definitely changed a lot over this. Before you would be forced to be with a person they chose, no one would care about how you feel. Now, some people still want to force, but they cant. Eventually everyone chooses who they want to be with at some point. Family and friends do have a play in who I love. Because they’re obviously going to have to meet him and be around him at parties, or family reunions, or holiday’s, etc. So you don’t want them to be bothered by their presence. They can not like them but you have to try to show them that they aren’t the person they think they are, so they can at least be a little more comfortable around them and with time they start opening up.
